The Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii) is one of Australia’s most iconic and visually striking parrots. This species is sexually dimorphic—males are entirely black with brilliant red panels on their tail feathers, while females display black plumage with yellow spotting on the head and wings, and orange-yellow tail banding.
With a size of approximately 60 cm (22 inches) and a weight of 550–750 grams, they are large, lean, and majestic birds. Outside of Australia, they are primarily found only in zoos and specialized private collections, making them a truly rare acquisition. Contact us
